Preamble

Speech-Language Pathologists / Speech and Language Therapists (SLPs/SLTs) are uniquely qualified to assess, diagnose and treat human communication disorders. All SLPs/SLTs are guided by the Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice and other guidelines of their particular professional association, for example: ASHA, IASLT, NZSTA, RCSLT, SAC or Speech Pathology Australia.

Individualised management

It is a central tenet of speech-language pathology / speech and language therapy practice all over the world, that every client and family is managed individually, with individual differences being taken into account at all times, and at every level of clinical engagement. Individualised management by a qualified SLP/SLT, therefore, caters to the unique needs and capacities of each client in his or her own linguistic and communicative environment. It is in this spirit that this website has been developed and published.
